Medical Emergencies
How to Respond to a Medical Emergency
- On-campus, dial 402-559-5555.
- Give dispatch your exact location – such as building name and room number, parking lot – and a telephone number where you can be reached.
- Briefly describe the medical condition of the individual and, if possible, provide the person's name.
- Do not move a seriously injured person unless it is a lifesaving situation.
- If possible, have someone posted to meet emergency personnel and lead them to your location.
On our Omaha campus, find locations of automatic defibrillators and stop-the-bleed kits, listed by building.
