19th Annual Fall Midwest Thoracic and GI Oncology Conference
 
                This conference will provide comprehensive updates on current treatment guidelines and delve into innovative therapeutic strategies for managing thoracic and gastrointestinal cancers.
Conference Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participants should be better able to:
Thoracic
- Name the biomarkers used in non-small cell lung cancer.
- State the changes in treatment guidelines for lung cancers.
- Explain the controversies of radiation for small cell lung cancer treatment.
- Interpret the Commission on Cancer operative standards regarding nodal sampling for lung cancer.
GI
- Define the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in pathology.
- Discuss the controversies and challenges in the management of esophageal and gastroesophageal junction cancers.
- Identify the challenges in the treatment of early-onset GI cancers.
- Recognize the indication and benefits of hepatic artery pump for liver-directed therapy.
- Articulate the association between obesity and cancer survival.
- Outline the barriers to colon cancer screening.
Target Audience
This accredited continuing education activity is designed for medical, radiation, and surgical oncologists, primary care providers, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, nurses, fellows, residents, and students caring for patients with thoracic and GI cancers.
