Call for Abstracts

Digital & Print Poster Presentations

We invite submissions for Digital and Print Poster Presentations highlighting how artificial intelligence (AI) is impacting, enabling, or transforming health sciences. Submissions should describe innovative, strategic, or applied uses of AI within one of the conference's health science focus areas.

All accepted abstracts will be presented at the conference. Submissions not selected for a Digital Poster Presentation will automatically be assigned to the Print Poster Presentation space.

Health Science Focus Areas

Submissions must align with at least one of the following areas:

  • Education (e.g., instruction, training, assessment, curriculum design, learner analytics)

  • Research (e.g., data analysis, discovery, translational science, modeling, simulation)

  • Clinical Care (e.g., business applications, clinical decision support, diagnostics, treatment planning, patient monitoring, Project Health)


Submission Requirements 

Required Elements

Title

  • Concise and descriptive
  • Maximum of 15 words

Authors and Affiliations
For each author, include:

  • Name and professional title
  • Department
  • Institutional affiliation (specifying University of Nebraska campus, Nebraska Medicine, or Children’s Nebraska)
  • Email address 

Presenter Lead

  • Name and email address of the individual responsible for coordinating poster setup and presentation at the event 

Abstract
A structured summary of no more than 250 words, including the following clearly labeled sections: 

  • Background, Objective, and Novelty
    Describe the problem or gap being addressed, the purpose of the work, and how it represents an innovative or strategic application of AI in health education, research, or clinical care.
  • Methods / Approach
    Describe the methodology, tools, workflows, or implementation steps used. Include a plan for evaluating or assessing success.
  • Results / Status
    Summarize key findings, preliminary data, anticipated outcomes, or current project status. Highlight evidence supporting feasibility or impact.
  • Conclusion
    State the primary conclusions and relevance to AI in health education, research, or clinical care.

Abstract Formatting Guidelines

To ensure consistency across submissions, abstracts must follow these formatting requirements:

  • Page Size: 8.5" x 11" (letter size)
  • Margins: 1" on all sides
  • Font: Arial, 11-point
  • Text Alignment: Left-justified
  • Spacing: Single-spaced
  • Length: Maximum 250 words (excluding title and author information)

Evaluation Criteria

Submissions will be evaluated on the following elements: 

  1. Clarity & Organization
    Clear, concise, professional writing; logical flow of information; easy to read; follows the required structure
  2. Relevance & Topic Interest
    Demonstrates strong appeal and applicability to the University of Nebraska and/or clinical partners interested in AI for health education, research, or clinical care   
  3. Background, Objective, and Novelty
    Clear definition of a significant problem or gap; innovative, strategic, or unique application of AI for health education, research, or clinical care
  4. Methods/Approach
    Rigorous and transparent methodology with a robust evaluation plan measuring success
  5. Results/Status
    Clear findings, pilot data, or well-defined work-in-progress status demonstrating feasibility 
  6. Conclusion
    Insightful and logically derived conclusions that articulate clear implications for AI in health education, research, or clinical care
  7. Format Appropriateness
    Content density and information type suitable for a poster presentation

Submission Instructions

  • Abstracts must be submitted online through the submission portal.
  • File format: .docx
  • File name should include the presenter's last name and a brief project descriptor (e.g., Lee-AIClinicalDecisionSupport.docx)
  • No faxed, emailed, or hard-copy submissions will be accepted.

Important Dates

  • Submission Deadline: February 27, 2026 
  • Notification of Acceptance: March 16, 2026 

Presenter Requirements

  • All accepted presentations must be presented in person.
  • At least one presenter is required per poster; multiple presenters are welcome.
  • Presenters are responsible for all costs related to conference attendance.

Poster Display Options

Digital Posters

  • Displayed on 55" screens
  • Presenters will project from their own devices
  • Data connection cords are provided
  • Slides, images, or looped video permitted
  • Audio is not supported via the display screen
  • If audio is used, it must be played directly from the presenter's device
  • Note: The conference environment is not conducive to projecting audio for poster presentations

Print Posters

  • Displayed on adjustable easels
  • Required print size: 48" x 48"

Posters should be suitable for a 5-minute presentation, followed by audience questions.

Conference organizers will not edit abstracts for typographical, grammatical, or formatting errors. Authors are responsible for ensuring accuracy and compliance with all submission requirements.
