Call for Abstracts
The planning committee invites abstract submissions for the 2026 Big Ten Neuroscience Annual Meeting.
Five abstracts will be selected for each oral presentation across three thematic sessions, along with an open category. Concurrent breakout sessions TBD.
- Session 1: Sleep and Circuits
- Session 2: Brain Health Across the Life Span: Neurodevelopment and
Neurodegeneration - Session 3: Bioinformatics & AI
- Open Category
Abstracts that have been previously submitted to or presented at other conferences are eligible for consideration. Abstracts not selected for oral presentation will undergo further review and a subset will be invited for poster presentation.
Abstract Guidelines
Abstract Formatting
The entire abstract, including the title and author information, must fit on a single 8.5" x 11" (letter-size) page. The presenting author is required to register for and attend the meeting in-person and present their poster at the assigned time.
Formatting Requirements
- Margins: 1" on all sides (top, bottom, left, and right)
- Font: Arial, 11-point
- Text Alignment: Left-justified, single-spaced
Abstract Content
The abstract must include the following:
- Abstract Title
- Author(s) Name(s): The presenting author’s name should be underlined. Author initials or first name(s) should precede the last name.
- Author Institutional Affiliation(s): Include institution name, city, state, and country
Include the following five section headers
- Background
- Methods
- Results
- Conclusions
- References
Language
All abstracts must be written in English.
Submission Instructions
- Abstracts must be submitted online in .docx format
- The filename should include the presenting author’s last name (e.g., Smith-BigTen-Abstract.docx)
- Faxed or hard copy submissions will not be accepted
Presenting Author Information
- Clearly identify the presenting author on the submission form and provide their direct email address
- Select one of the following categories:
- Student: Undergraduate, graduate, or professional student
- Post-Graduate Trainee: Resident, fellow, or postdoctoral trainee
- Faculty or Staff: Physician, pharmacist, nurse, scientist, etc.
Proofreading and Error Checking
The UNMC Center for Continuing Education will not edit abstracts for typographical, spelling, or grammatical errors. Please review your submission carefully for accuracy prior to submission.
Submission Deadline
Abstract submissions are due by June 1, 2026.
Decision Notification
Presenting authors will be notified of their abstract acceptance via email by June 15, 2026.
The presenting author is required to register for the meeting and present during their assigned session time.
Poster Presentation Guidelines
If selected for a poster presentation, a display board will be provided by the meeting organizers (poster size: 48" x 36" maximum).
Presenters are responsible for bringing their own mounting materials (e.g., pushpins, Velcro, tape, etc.).
