2025 NPQIC Fall Summit

2025 NPQIC Fall Summit

The Nebraska Perinatal Quality Improvement Collaborative (NPQIC) provides evidence-based resources and expertise to providers and nurses caring for mothers and newborns.

The 2025 Summit, marking NPQIC's tenth anniversary, will address critical maternal and infant health issues including obstetric hemorrhage, amniotic fluid embolism, birth trauma, perinatal mental health, substance use disorders, and syphilis.

Sessions will equip providers to manage potentially life-threatening conditions, while also addressing the psychological impact of birth complications on clinical teams, patients, and their support networks.

Attendees will gain an understanding of the importance of patient and community engagement, as well as strategies to identify patients with valuable lived experiences.

Lastly, the Summit will provide ample opportunities for both informal and facilitated networking and exchange of knowledge among perinatal health care professionals from across the state.

NPQIC, in partnership with the Sterle Family, is hosting a screening of 24 Days Without You, a film about Annie and Tony Sterle’s experience with an amniotic fluid embolism during childbirth. Watch the official trailer.

  2. Describe trauma-informed care practices that support recovery and resilience in patients, families, and health care teams following complex perinatal events.
  3. Identify high-risk perinatal conditions including obstetric hemorrhage, amniotic fluid embolism, and perinatal mental health or substance use disorders using evidence-based, team-based approaches.
  4. Integrate patient and community perspectives into perinatal care and systems improvement initiatives to reduce disparities and enhance population health outcomes across Nebraska.
