Welcome to another quarter of AHA updates! Thank you for everything you do to provide high-quality education throughout our community. This section is designed to keep you informed of instructor updates, renewal information, and helpful teaching resources to make your classes run as smoothly as possible.
Instructor Renewal Reminders
- Review your instructor expiration date
- Document the 4 classes you have taught in the past 2 years including date, course name, location, and station/module
- Make sure your monitoring requirements have been completed (if applicable)
- Register for an upcoming Instructor Renewal Session before your card expires
- Verify that your contact information is current so you don't miss important communications
Instructor Alignment
- Follow the current AHA Instructor Manual
- Use the latest AHA course videos and materials
- Teach to AHA standards— do not add content or remove required content
- Provide constructive coaching while maintaining consistency across instructors
- Share best practices and support fellow instructors
Teaching Tip of the Quarter
Encourage students to explain why they made a decision during scenarios. This promotes critical thinking and improves retention.
