Megan Christiansen, RDH, BS, is a 1994 graduate of the UNMC College of Dentistry Dental Hygiene program. She has spent 31 years practicing clinical dental hygiene and has 30 years in the field of Periodontics. Her academic career began in 2013 when she returned to the College of Dentistry as a staff dental hygienist. Since then, she has been moved into a clinical instructor position, working with dental students in our Periodontal Undergraduate Clinic.
Currently she's assistant professor and co-director of Undergraduate Periodontal Clinic. Teaching responsibilities include PERO553 Lab for second-year dental students, working with ASDP students doing 7 weeks of lecture/lab and help with their clinical transition. In addition to teaching responsibilities at the College of Dentistry, Megan teaches expanded function courses to dental assistants. Currently, she is serving as President-Elect of the Nebraska Dental Hygiene Association.
