About Dr. Fingeret
Abbey Fingeret, MD, MHPTT, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She is an Endocrine Surgeon who completed her residency training at the Columbia University Medical Center in New York, NY, and her fellowship in Endocrine Surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital of Harvard University in Boston, MA. Her passion for personal and professional development led her to seek additional training in coaching which she received from the McLean Institute of Coaching, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School in 2018. She also completed the Academy of Academic Medical Center Coaching Series in 2022.
She believes that understanding and applying emotional intelligence is key to performance improvement, personal and professional growth and satisfaction. Her experience coaching has reinforced the efficacy of this approach. Her coaching style is to listen actively and curiously with an open mind and to guide the coachee in self resolution through reflection, clarification and accountability.
