What is one of your favorite questions to ask during coaching sessions and why?
Tell me more. An open-ended question that requires the coachee to think about the meaning of the question in the context of what they just said.
What is one lesson you've learned from a career blunder?
Make sure you know the source of the information driving a project. I was in charge of a project to improve post-operative pain management, and half-way through I was asked to show one of the team members the data used to drive the project. It didn’t exist. In fact, the data demonstrated pain management during an emergency department procedure was the concern. We abandoned the project.
