About Dr. Simonsen

Kari Simonsen, MD, MBA, is the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics and Professor of Pediatric Infectious Diseases in the College of Medicine. She has been at UNMC since 2007. She is a graduate of the ELAM (Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine) program, a certified executive coach from the Center for Executive Coaching, a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach and certified in the Center for Creative Leadership's Benchmarks Suite of 360 assessments. She views coaching as a method of assisting leaders to clarify their personal goals, develop their leadership potential and thrive in their chosen careers.
