About Dr. Smallfield
Stacy Smallfield, DrOT, joined the occupational therapy program at UNMC in 2021 as Associate Program Director and Doctoral Capstone Coordinator. She is highly involved in the administration of the program, including curriculum development and faculty mentorship, in addition to teaching courses and preparing students for the doctoral capstone. Prior to UNMC, Dr. Smallfield held academic and administrative appointments at the University of South Dakota and Washington University in St. Louis, and has worked clinically in adult physical rehabilitation.
Dr. Smallfield completed coaching training and certification through the SPIRO Coaching Institute's Academic Medical Centers coaching academy.
What is one valuable piece of advice you've received from a coach or mentor?
Don't take someone else's monkey. (Don't do tasks for others that they would grow from doing on their own - with support as needed.)
