Trick or Treat

Young child in a creature costume picks out candy from a large bowl.

Each October, the Munroe-Meyer Institute provides a Halloween event for individuals with disabilities and their families.

The event is designed to be sensory-friendly by not incorporating loud music. Costumes are optional but encouraged!

While many attendees and their families receive services at MMI, some are a part of the wider community, drawn by the accessible nature of the event and, in some cases, interested in learning more about MMI and the services we provide.

Trick or Treat 2026

Registration is now open for the 2026 event!

Trick or Treat will be held at MMI on Sunday, October 18 from 1:00-3:00 p.m.

There are several ways for you to get involved:

  • Host a candy/treat station: decorate a table and hand out peanut-free candy, or trinkets and other goodies to trick-or-treaters.
  • Volunteer: assist with set-up, clean-up or guiding participants on event day.
  • Donate: contribute peanut-free candy or themed goodies.
  • Decorate: on Friday, October 16 and/or Saturday, October 17, join us to transform MMI for the event.

If you're unsure how you'd like to help, you can still register using the link below and we'll reach out with opportunities.
