Maintenance
The Perkin Elmer Spectrum undergoes annual preventative maintenance by a certified Perkin Elmer service technician. During preventative maintenance, image quality is checked and calibrated to NIST standards. The workspace is sterilized after each user to reduce chance of pathogen contamination. Comparative Medicine does quarterly surface swipes to check for any harmful pathogens.
Data Storage
Data is temporarily stored on the computer connected to the instrument. Image collection and long-term storage is the responsibility of each investigator.
See standard operating procedure for core protocol.
