MITS Mission Statement

The medical imaging and therapy programs within the Department of Clinical, Diagnostic & Therapeutic Sciences are mission-driven to provide a premier educational environment that prepares competent entry-level professionals who demonstrate the highest quality of patient-centered care, safety, and service.

Goals

To uphold our Mission, the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Program has the following goals:

Goal 1: Students will be clinically competent.
Student Learning Outcomes:

  • Students will learn to obtain diagnostic MR images with the highest concern for patient safety.
  • Students will select appropriate equipment for proper image acquisition.
  • Students will utilize protocols for acquiring images to the specification of physician requests and diagnostic needs.

Goal 2: Students will demonstrate effective communication skills.
Student Learning Outcomes:

  • Students will demonstrate effective written communication skills.
  • Students will demonstrate effective oral communication skills.

Goal 3: Students will develop critical thinking skills.

  • Students will learn demonstrate appropriate optimization techniques.
  • Students will critique MR images to determine diagnostic quality.
