College of Dentistry Alumni Reunion

Alumni class honor years are those ending in "5" or "0"; however, all alumni are invited to attend. Please note that the schedule has changed from previous years—take a moment to review it and sign up for the events you’d like to attend.

The Husker football team will play its Homecoming game vs. Michigan State on 10/4, and hotel rooms in Lincoln are filling up quickly. We recommend that you make your reservations as early as possible.

As of June 8, our block of rooms at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Lincoln (1040 P Street) has sold out. You’re welcome to contact the hotel directly to inquire about additional availability. They can be reached at 402-474-1111.

We have set up a new room block that you may utilize.

Book your room online or call 402-420-7800 and ask to book in the University of Nebraska Board of Regents block. A two-night reservation (Friday and Saturday) is required. Single-night reservations are only allowed for Thursday night. Parking is free for guests.

Attire is summer business casual. We encourage you to wear comfortable shoes for walking on campus.
Once you register yourself online or by calling the Alumni Office, you will receive a copy of your registration via email. 

The Alumni Office will send a confirmation email to registrants within one week of the reunion. That message will contain all the information you need for your participation in reunion weekend.

    • $15/person
  • Continuing Education
    • Dental alumni and Dental non-alumni = $50/person
    • Dental Hygiene alumni and auxiliary staff = $35/person
    • 2020 - 2025 Graduates (both Dental and Dental Hygiene) = FREE 
    • Sponsor a student to attend = $25/person
  • College of Dentistry Alumni Reception 
    • $50/person for dinner buffet and one drink ticket.

Pricing for Saturday, October 4, 2025

  • Michigan State at Nebraska Football Game 
    • 20 football game tickets are available for purchase in pairs for $70 each ($140 for the pair).
    • Pre-Game Tailgate: The cost is $25 per person and includes a buffet meal and non-alcoholic beverages. A cash bar will also be available.

    Simplifying Anterior Composites for Predictable Results

    This course will provide a practical approach to anterior composite restorations by focusing on simplified techniques that provide predictable and esthetic results. Attendees will review the latest updates in adhesive dentistry, composite selection, and material advancements. The session will also cover layering strategies, shade selection, and finishing protocols that enhance both longevity and clinical efficiency.

    Learning Objectives:

    1. Describe current adhesive systems and protocols to achieve reliable bonding in anterior composite restorations.

    2. Identify effective composite selection and simplified layering techniques to match natural esthetics using minimal shades.

    3. Apply finishing and polishing methods that improve restoration longevity and patient satisfaction.

  • Peter J. Giannini, DDS, MS 
    Professor and Director of Clinical and Translational Research 
    Department of Oral Biology

    Diagnosis and Management of Oral Mucosal Lesions: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

    This course will consist of a presentation of oral mucosal lesions encountered in daily practice. Cases will be presented emphasizing the importance of lesion description and history in developing a differential diagnosis. Therapeutic management will also be discussed.

    1. Provide an appropriate clinical description for a given lesion.

    2. Develop a differential diagnosis based on the history and clinical presentation.

    3. Determine the appropriate management based upon the definitive diagnosis.

The evening program will feature remarks from the Dean, alumni awards, honor class recognition, and musical entertainment. Honor classes will be seated together, recognized during the program, and have a group photo taken by the reunion photographer.

Free time for honor classes to meet at locations around Lincoln or stay at the Nebraska East Union for further celebration.   

Michigan State at Nebraska Football Game  
As of June 30, the official game time has not been announced. It will be scheduled for either 11 a.m., 2:30 p.m., or 3 p.m.

  • Tickets: The College of Dentistry Alumni Board has secured a block of 20 football game tickets, available for purchase in pairs. Tickets are $70 each ($140 for a pair) and will be added to your registration fee. Tickets are on a first-come, first-served basis through online registration. Please note that, per the Nebraska Athletic Department, all tickets will be delivered electronically via the Huskers app. Printed tickets are not available. 
  • Pre-Game Tailgate: Join the College of Dentistry Alumni Association for an indoor tailgate at the Embassy Suites Downtown Lincoln in Chancellor’s Rooms II and III. The tailgate will open two and a half hours before the announced game time. The cost is $25 per person and includes a buffet meal and non-alcoholic beverages. A cash bar will also be available. Pre-registration is required to help us plan for space and catering.
