Summer Undergraduate Research Program

Undergraduate students considering careers in cancer research or related biomedical sciences are offered research opportunities in one of our laboratories.

Each student will work for 10 weeks on a project with a mentor from the Eppley Institute in a laboratory within the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center.

Student researchers will attend weekly seminar series designed to foster a great understanding of cancer biology while giving students a chance to meet graduates and learn about the wide variety of career paths available to them. All Eppley SURP students will present their research results in a poster session at the end of the summer.

Eppley SURP scholars are paid a stipend of $6,000. Limited opportunities for housing and travel assistance may be available. Contact the program manager for more information.

Eligible applicants include any student who will be going into the sophomore, junior or senior year of undergraduate education in the fall semester after participating in SURP. Please read more about immunization and other general program requirements on UNMC's SURP program web site.
