Together We Thrive

Community Outreach & Engagement

The Office of Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) is dedicated to improving health outcomes through relationship-building, advocacy and collaboration. Our efforts include community-based research, resource support, cancer prevention education and cancer screening initiatives — all informed by community-identified needs.

Who We Serve

The Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center serves Nebraska, the 16th-largest state by land area — a diverse region with predominantly rural and frontier communities spanning more than 77,000 square miles across the heart of the Great Plains. The catchment area includes all 93 counties and is home to over 2 million people. Nearly 80% of the cancer patients treated at the center reside within this area.
