ACLS Provider

Notice: In-person classes at the UNMC Omaha location will resume in March at 4601 Catalyst Court, Omaha, NE 68106 (just south of 46th & Farnam).
ACLS Provider

The ACLS Provider is a two-day course designed for the health care provider who either:

  • has never attended an ACLS Provider class;
  • is not comfortable with the ACLS content and skills; and/or
  • has an expired ACLS card.

The course runs for approximately 15 to 16 hours.

Pre-requisite

  • Current AHA® BLS Provider card

This building requires badge access. A staff member will meet you in the foyer and assist with entry. Please refer to your confirmation email for detailed arrival instructions.

Pick-up is available Tuesday through Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

If you live and work outside of the Omaha metro area, please email emstrauma@unmc.edu to make arrangements to receive the manual.

You may also purchase an e-manual online at the AHA eBook Store.

Manuals must be rented or purchased prior to the day of the course. Rentals will not be available on the day of the course.

Participants who arrive without a manual will be required to purchase one.

You must:

  1. Have a current AHA® BLS Provider card;
  2. Review the AHA® ACLS Provider Manual;
  3. Complete the pre-course assessment (read your confirmation email for instructions); and
  4. Print the pre-course assessment score (which you will present to your instructor on the first day of the course).
  • You must show the following during class check-in:
    • A valid government- or school-issued photo ID
    • Your current AHA® BLS Provider card
  • The temperature in the classroom may vary throughout the day. Please come in loose and comfortable layers of clothing.
  • You will be practicing skills that will require you to work on your hands and knees. You will be bending, standing, and lifting throughout the course. If you have any physical condition that will prevent you from engaging in these activities, please do not hesitate to inform the instructor(s) as he/she may be able to adjust the equipment to address your needs.

Joint Accreditation with CommendationIn support of improving patient care, University of Nebraska Medical Center is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

The University of Nebraska Medical Center designates this live activity for a maximum of 14 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
