PALS Provider

PALS Provider

The PALS Provider is a two-day course designed for the health care provider who either:

  • has never attended a PALS Provider course;
  • is not comfortable with the PALS content and skills; and/or
  • has an expired PALS card.

The course runs for approximately 15 to 16 hours.

  • Current AHA® BLS Provider card

Manual Rental/Purchase
  • If you are renting or purchasing the manual, please pick it up from the EMS/Trauma Office on the second floor of UNMC Annex 14 Building at 4460 Farnam Street, Omaha, NE.

    Take the elevator to 2R.

    Pick-up is available Monday through Friday from 8 am to 2 pm.

    If you live and work outside of the Omaha Metro, please email emstrauma@unmc.edu to make arrangements to get your manual.

    Or, if you prefer, you can purchase an e-manual from https://shopcpr.heart.org/
  • You may rent or purchase a manual prior to the day of the class. No manual rental will be allowed on the day of the class.

    Participants who come to class without a manual will be required to purchase one.
Prior to Your Scheduled Class

You must:

  1. Have a current AHA® BLS Provider card;
  2. Review the AHA® PALS Provider Manual;
  3. Complete the pre-course assessment (read your confirmation email for instructions); and
  4. Print the pre-course assessment score (which will be presented to the instructor on the first day of the course).
On the Day of Your Class
  • You must show the following during class check-in:
    • A valid government- or school-issued photo ID
    • Your current AHA® BLS Provider card
  • The temperature in the classroom may vary throughout the day. Please come in loose and comfortable layers of clothing.
  • You will be practicing skills that will require you to work on your hands and knees. You will be bending, standing, and lifting throughout the course. If you have any physical condition that will prevent you from engaging in these activities, please do not hesitate to inform the instructor(s) as he/she may be able to adjust the equipment to address your needs.
