PALS Provider

Notice: In-person classes at the UNMC Omaha location will resume in March at 4601 Catalyst Court, Omaha, NE 68106 (just south of 46th & Farnam).

The PALS Provider is a two-day course designed for the health care provider who either:

has never attended a PALS Provider course;
is not comfortable with the PALS content and skills; and/or
has an expired PALS card.

The course runs for approximately 15 to 16 hours.

Credit/debit card payments are accepted. Please note that all processing fees are non-refundable.

For total transaction amounts under $20:
No additional fees will be charged.
For amounts between $20 and $106:
A flat $3 processing fee will apply.
For amounts over $106:
A 2.95% processing fee will apply.

E-Check/ACH Transfer

Electronic check (ACH) payments are strongly recommended and are not subject to any additional fees. This option works well for individual registrants and sponsoring institutions.

If you register online, you will receive an email confirmation immediately after completing your registration.
If you register via telephone, fax, or mail, you will receive your confirmation once the payment has been processed.

To maintain the AHA-recommended instructor-to-student ratio and ensure a quality learning experience for all participants:

Cancellations and Transfers:
- Must be submitted in writing via email to emstrauma@unmc.edu.
- A $50 cancellation/transfer fee applies to all approved requests.
- Requests made less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled class cannot be accommodated and will be considered a no-show.
Refunds:
- Credit or debit card processing fees are non-refundable.
- Cancellations made within 14 days of the class are eligible for a 50% refund of the registration fee, minus the $50 cancellation/transfer fee.
- Rented Course Manuals: Refunds will be processed only if the manual is returned within 14 days of receiving your cancellation request. Manuals returned after 14 days are not eligible for a refund.
- Refunds are issued to the original form of payment and are typically processed within five days after returned manuals are received.
No-Shows:
- No refunds will be issued.

This building requires badge access. A staff member will meet you in the foyer and assist with entry. Please refer to your confirmation email for detailed arrival instructions.

Pick-up is available Tuesday through Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

If you live and work outside of the Omaha metro area, please email emstrauma@unmc.edu to make arrangements to receive the manual.

You may also purchase an e-manual online at the AHA eBook Store.

Manuals must be rented or purchased prior to the day of the course. Rentals will not be available on the day of the course.

Participants who arrive without a manual will be required to purchase one.

Participants who come to the course without a manual will be required to purchase one.

Prior to Your Scheduled Class

You must:

Have a current AHA^® BLS Provider card;
Review the AHA^® PALS Provider Manual;
Complete the pre-course assessment (read your confirmation email for instructions); and
Print the pre-course assessment score (which will be presented to the instructor on the first day of the course).

On the Day of Your Class

You must show the following during class check-in:
- A valid government- or school-issued photo ID
- Your current AHA^® BLS Provider card
The temperature in the classroom may vary throughout the day. Please come in loose and comfortable layers of clothing.
You will be practicing skills that will require you to work on your hands and knees. You will be bending, standing, and lifting throughout the course. If you have any physical condition that will prevent you from engaging in these activities, please do not hesitate to inform the instructor(s) as he/she may be able to adjust the equipment to address your needs.

Continuing Education Credit

In support of improving patient care, University of Nebraska Medical Center is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

The University of Nebraska Medical Center designates this live activity for a maximum of 14 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
