Hazardous Material Shipping & Transportation

UNMC and Nebraska Medicine complies with regulations of several federal agencies regarding the shipment and transport of hazardous materials and dangerous goods.

This includes regulations of the Department of Transportation, International Air Transport Association and Transportation Security Administration.

Training is available for employees who ship certain hazardous materials and dangerous goods, including excepted quantities, dry ice and infectious substances (Biological substance-Category A, Biological substance- Category B, Diagnostic Specimens, and Regulated Medical Waste).

Training also is available for employees who accept shipment of hazardous materials or who transport hazardous materials.
