UNMC Faculty/Staff/Applicant Reasonable Accommodations under the ADA
Individuals with mental or physical impairments may request reasonable accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”), the Americans with Disabilities Act as amended (“ADAAA”) and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 to enable them to perform the essential functions of their job, as long as the accommodation does not create an undue hardship.
The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (“PWFA”) provides reasonable accommodations to an employee’s known limitations related to pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions, unless the accommodation causes an undue hardship.
If you are an employee or applicant and are requesting a medical accommodation pertaining to your employment, please complete the Request for ADA Accommodation form and submit it to the UNMC HR Employee Relations office at employeerelations@unmc.edu.
