Dr. Mahato's laboratories are in the Durham Research Center 1 (rooms: 1026, 1028, 1030), University of Nebraska Medical Center, 985965 Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, NE 68198-5965. The laboratories are equipped with most of the modern equipment necessary for conducting research in delivery systems of proteins, oligonucleotides, siRNA, genes and small molecules. These laboratories are equipped with several units of Waters UPLC/UV and HPLC/FL systems, Shimadzu HPLC/UV, LC/MS/MS AB SCIX QTRAP 4000, Zeiss Axio TL/RL Inverted Microscope, Peak Scientific Nitrogen Generator, Zymark Nitrogen Evaporator, Biorad DNA PCR engines, Jouan high speed bench-top giant centrifuge, Zeta sizer Nano-ZS90, Roche LightCycler 480 II qPCR instrument, ABI prism 7700 sequence detector, Thermo Scientific Heat-therm oven, Fischer Scientific Sonic dismembrator, Labconco freeze dryer, Tomy microtube mixture, Branson 3800 Sonicator, Mettler TOLEDO high precision weighing balance set, SpectraMax® M5e multimode plate reader, Gel Doc EZ Imaging System, Epoch plate reader, Qsonica sonicator, set of Heidolph rota evaporator, several sets of precision water bath, Thermal Cyclers for PCR, Western blotting apparatus, several microcentrifuges, two cell culture hood, two incubators that can control levels of N2 and air in addition to CO2, three set of -80°C freezer, liquid nitrogen tank, two -30°C freezer, 2 refrigerators. We also have, two chemical hoods, vacuum aspirator, pH meters and SmartSpec 3000 spectrophotometer. Next generation impactor (NGI), microfluidic chips, extruders are the recent additions to the lab.

Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences has core facilities of FACS, confocal microscopy, NMR and Molecular modeling. AFM microscope and in vivo imager. We have full access to the 25,000 sq. ft.  Dr. Mahato's group has access to the 4°C cold room, dark room for film development available in the DRC II. We also have access to other laboratories of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, DRC I. These are modern laboratories, with all the equipment needed for polymer synthesis, purification and characterization, gene cloning, plasmid amplification and purification, formulation, in vitro and in vivo characterization of polymer/DNA complexes. Center for Drug Delivery and Nanomedicine (CDDN) core facilities have many modern equipment facilities including Peptide Synthesis, Flow Cytometry and Quantitative PCR.
