UNMC Protection of Human Subjects Conference

Since 2012, UNMC's IRB annually hosts a free educational conference to advance the knowledge of both IRB professionals and research teams in hot topics related to research and regulation. Our yearly speakers include nationally recognized and local professionals involved in cutting edge research and ethics.

The conference provides continuing education credits for Certified IRB Professionals, Society of Clinical Research Associates, and the Association of Clinical Research Professionals. Please direct any questions to our office via email or phone at 402-559-6463.

Location

The conference is held on the UNMC campus in the Truhlsen Events Center, which is on the ground floor (room 1001) of the Michael Sorrell Center of Health Science Education on the northeast corner of 42nd and Emile.

Entrance

Please use the doors located next to the stethoscope sculpture to enter the building. This will bring you directly to registration.

Parking

For the 2025 conference, parking for all attendees arriving from off-campus will be in UNMC Lot 61. Lot 61 can be located at the northwest corner of 40th & Marcy street. The campus shuttle service provides a covered shuttle canopy in the event of poor weather conditions nearby in Lot 63.

The pick-up/drop-off cycle should take an estimated 10-12 minutes.

In the morning, the shuttle will arrive at the shuttle canopy (Lot 63) and pick up attendees at 7:15am and 7:45am. The dropoff location is the Michael F. Sorrell Center.
In the afternoon, at the end of the conference, the shuttle will pick up attendees at the Michael F. Sorrell C location at 3:48, 4:23, and 4:58pm. The shuttle returns passengers to Lot 63.
