Specific Prerequisite Courses

Pre-Radiography Coursework

Prerequisite coursework will be accepted from any regionally accredited institution and must be completed with a grade of C- or better. Coursework can be in progress when you apply but must be completed by July 15 of the year of entry.

College prerequisites, course requirements, and program requirements are subject to change.

This program requires successful completion of 28 semester credit hours (or equivalent quarter hours) at an accredited college or university. To convert quarter credits to semester credits, divide the number of quarter credits by 1.5. The 28 semester credit hours (42 quarter credit hours) must include the following:

  • English composition is recommended
  • Other acceptable courses may include but are not limited to literature, speech, foreign language, philosophy, psychology, sociology, art, history, religion

Natural Sciences Semester credit hours
Biology with Lab* 4 Semester Credit Hours
Physics (lab recommended) 3-4 Semester Credit Hours

*Starting with the Fall 2026 applications, the Biology with Lab requirement will be replaced with 2 courses of Human Anatomy and Human Physiology with labs, which can be satisfied 1 of 2 ways:

  • 2 separate courses: Human Anatomy with Lab and Human Physiology with Lab
  • 2 combined courses: Human Anatomy & Physiology I & II with labs

Mathematics Semester credit hours
College Algebra or higher 3 Semester Credit Hours

Medical Terminology Semester credit hours

Medical Terminology

  • Certificate courses not accepted

Elective Courses Semester credit hours

Any college level course to meet the 28 semester (42 quarter) credit hour minimum. 

  • Recommended courses: health care focused courses, additional science courses, higher level math courses, communications/ social science courses, foreign language
2-5 Semester Credit Hours

*Starting with the Fall 2026 applications, the Biology with Lab requirement will be replaced with 2 courses of Human Anatomy and Human Physiology with labs, which can be satisfied 1 of 2 ways:

  • 2 separate courses: Human Anatomy with Lab and Human Physiology with Lab
  • 2 combined courses: Human Anatomy & Physiology I & II with labs

Credit by Examination

A maximum of 6 College Level Examination Program (CLEP) or Advanced Placement (AP) semester hours will be accepted for transfer.

  • CLEP semester hours in math and science will not be accepted.
  • No more than 3 CLEP or AP hours of English Composition will be accepted.
