For some of the funding opportunities from private institutions, the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center manages the pre-application nomination process directly due to limited submission opportunities. From a submitted list of applications, the Cancer Center reviews the application to nominate candidates for actual grant submissions. Funding Opportunities
The V Foundation supports high-risk, high-reward cancer research led by exceptional scientists at National Cancer Institute-designated cancer centers and other leading institutions across the United States.
V Foundation Breaking Barriers in Cancer Research Award
This includes two grant mechanisms, V Scholar and Translational.
Funding cycle: Application is expected to open in December, subject to changes in the funding schedule.
1. Grant specifics for V Scholar:
- Funding will be in the form of a four-year grant totaling $800,000, paid in annual installments of $200,000. No indirect costs are allowed.
- The V Foundation follows NIH salary cap guidelines.
- Funding will be in the form of a four-year grant totaling $800,000, paid in annual installments of $200,000. This amount includes both direct and indirect costs. Indirect costs are allowed up to 10% of the total grant amount.
- The V Foundation follows NIH salary cap guidelines.
V Foundation Pediatric Cancer Research Program Grant
This includes two grant mechanisms, V Scholar and Translational.

This includes two grant mechanisms, Translational and All-Star. Each invited institution may submit up to two nominations for each of the mechanisms.

The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Foundation supports and advances cancer research through collaborative studies, clinical trials and quality improvement initiatives. Within this broader research portfolio, the NCCN Foundation Young Investigator Award (YIA) serves as a signature program for recognizing and supporting promising early-career investigators.

The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Foundation Young Investigator Award (YIA) Program supports early-stage investigators with innovative ideas and an interest in improving the quality, effectiveness, equity, and accessibility of care provided to patients with cancer.

Gabrielle's Angel Foundation - Blood Cancer Research Award
Gabrielle's Angel Foundation - Blood Cancer Research Award supports innovative, translational proposals and is committed to supporting promising independent early-stage investigators.
