The Warren G. Sanger Human Genetics Laboratory at UNMC’s Munroe-Meyer Institute offers laboratory tours and job shadows to individuals and groups interested in expanding their knowledge of laboratory processes and genetic diagnostics.

These opportunities are designed to introduce visitors to the cytogenetic and molecular genetic technologies and testing performed within our laboratory. Visitors will gain general knowledge of clinical laboratory safety and operations and direct observation of our laboratory professionals may be available.

A total of four job shadows are offered monthly, on the second and fourth Tuesday and Thursday, from 9 a.m. – noon (with the option to shorten the tour or shadow to 2 hours).

Laboratory tours and job shadows are scheduled online through the Nebraska Medicine job shadowing program.
