Bring Your Own Device
Frequently Asked Questions
Mobile devices and tablets are extremely convenient and can handle many tasks required for classroom activities and assignments. However, they are not ideal or fully compatible with some of the software platforms we use. You are welcome to use a mobile device or tablet to supplement your experience, but neither can be used alone as a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device).
While tablets often provide greater functionality than phones, they still face limitations—especially when it comes to running testing and simulation software. The most widely compatible operating systems for classroom and testing platforms are macOS, Windows, and iPadOS. In contrast, devices like Chromebooks and Surface tablets tend to have restricted compatibility. For specific Device and Software specifications, please refer to the Technology Information page. For the best experience, we recommend using a supported laptop or desktop device.
