Shawnalyn Sunagawa, PharmD

Dr. Sunagawa is a Research Assistant Professor and a HIV clinical pharmacist who practices at the University of Nebraska Medical Center Specialty Care Center, HIV/PrEP Programs. She earned her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Creighton University and completed a pharmacy practice and infectious diseases pharmacy residency at Nebraska Medicine and an HIV clinical pharmacology fellowship at UNMC. She joined the College of Pharmacy in 2023.

Research Interests

Dr. Sunagawa’s research interests include HIV clinical pharmacology, sexually transmitted infections, and public health.

Teaching Activities

Dr. Sunagawa lectures in the Infectious Diseases/HIV sections of Pharmacotherapy III and within the HIV elective.
