Preceptor Benefits

UNMC Preceptors are role models, mentors, and teachers. They provide valuable one-on-one, real world experiences to prepare students for their future careers as clinicians and healthcare leaders. The experiences our students have in the clinical settings are a key component in the development of their medical knowledge, diagnostic skills, and professional character.

Noteworthy benefits of precepting to you and your practice:

  • UNMC PA students stimulate pursuit of relevant, evidence-based medical care
  • UNMC PA students increase patient satisfaction by encouraging in-depth observation and discussion with each patient, fostering communication and a group dynamic
  • UNMC PA students often streamline outpatient office flow. Students can obtain a history on one patient while the clinician sees another, allowing clinicians to divide their time efficiently
  • UNMC PA student preceptors find professional satisfaction in the investment of knowledge and character development of the next generation of providers
  • UNMC PA student preceptors utilize connections made during rotations to facilitate recruitment of future providers
UNMC Physician Assistant Education Program is proud to offer the following preceptor benefits upon request:
