Bowel and Bladder Program

The Bowel and Bladder Program is one of two new programs within the Department of Occupational Therapy at the Munroe-Meyer Institute.

The Occupational Therapy Department offers services aimed at supporting safety and independence with daily living skills. Our goal is to collaborate with families and children to develop a personalized therapy plan of care to best manage bowel and bladder functioning in a fun, child-centered, and engaging way!

What is included in a Pediatric Pelvic Health Plan of Care?

  • A comprehensive evaluation.
  • An individualized treatment plan.
  • Education on completion of a Bowel and Bladder Log, water intake, and fiber intake.
  • Sensory checklist.
  • Tools, activities, visuals, and strategy ideas to enhance beginning stages of potty learning.

Goal: Child-led independence in bowel and bladder management.
