EMS & Trauma Instructors

Instructors are required to notify the UNMC CCE AHA Training Center of upcoming courses at least one week in advance by completing the EMS Course Pre-Registration Form.

Before the Course

Instructors must document all students using the appropriate course participant form. Before the course, download the correct form based on the type of course being taught and have all students complete their information during the course.

• Participant List (Non-Credit) – BLS, Heartsaver, Friends and Family
• Participant List (Non-Credit) – ACLS, PALS, and PEARS
• Participant List (Credit) – ACLS and PALS 

Instructors are responsible for ensuring all student information is complete and accurate. A $25 fee will be charged for incomplete or inaccurate submissions.

After the Course

All course submissions are completed online.

To issue AHA course completion cards, instructors must complete the appropriate online course information form and upload the completed participant list within 10 business days of the course.

There are separate online submission forms for credit and non-credit courses. Instructors must select the correct form when submitting.

Submission Requirements:

• Completing the appropriate online course information form (credit or non-credit)
• Upload the completed participant list form

All submissions must be complete and accurate. UNMC CCE will not edit or correct errors.

A late fee of $10 per day will be assessed for submissions received after the ten-business day deadline.

Please allow up to 30 days for issuance of AHA course completion cards.

The AHA requires that each student completes the course evaluation. Please make sure that all information is filled out. Missing information could cost an additional $25.

UNMC CCE AHA Course Evaluation

It is the policy of the UNMC Center for Continuing Education AHA Training Center to rent BLS and ALS manikins, AED Trainers, and other equipment used for AHA courses to Training Center-aligned instructors in good standing.

Equipment must be reserved at least two weeks in advance by sending an email to emstrauma@unmc.edu. Rental availability is on a first come first served basis. If equipment is not reserved, we cannot guarantee that it will be available. Complete the Equipment Rental Form and submit it via email or fax to 402-559-5915. All equipment rentals are due back on the date and time printed on the form.

Important:

• If you keep a piece of equipment beyond the initial pre-paid rental period, you will be charged an additional weekly rental rate. 
• You are expected to return equipment clean (see manikin decontamination) and in proper working condition. You will be billed for any repairs that may be needed if the equipment is not in proper working condition or will be billed for the full replacement cost of equipment due to loss or destruction, regardless of cause.
• Failure to adhere to the equipment rental policy may result in the loss of your instructor rental privileges.
• Please give at least a 24-hour cancellation notice.
