Indoor Leagues - UNMC Center for Healthy Living

Fall Indoor Season

The Fall 2019 Indoor season will run during October and November. All 6 sports will conclude by November 21 (the week before Thanksgiving Break).

League Format

Most indoor leagues will consist of a regular season (4-5 weeks) followed by a playoff tournament (2 weeks). The tournament will take place between November 11- November 21. Teams will earn entry into the playoff tournament based on the results from the first 4-5 weeks of the season.

About Intramural Leagues

Intramural leagues are athletic competitions organized for UNMC and Nebraska Medicine faculty/staff/students and their families (parents/spouses/children).

Within each league, games are played on the same day every week for a period of 4-11 weeks (depending on the sport and season. A league usually consists of a round-robin (or regular season) phase followed by a post-season playoff tournament. If there is a tournament, the regular season phase will determine seeding for the playoff tournament. The winners of the tournament will be named league champions and will be awarded the intramural championship t-shirts at no additional cost to the winning teams.

Competitive Divisions

Competition in many of the leagues is offered at two separate levels in order to accommodate players of all skill levels. That means that one team will only play other teams who elect to play in the same division. The divisions are described below

Elite (Division 1) - Participants on Elite-division teams are generally more experienced and play at a faster, more competitive pace.

Recreational (Division 2) - Participants on Recreational-division teams are generally more interested in playing for fun. Games are competitive, but are not played at as high of a competitive standard as Elite-division games.

Refunds for Intramural Leagues are available up to seven calendar days before the first scheduled date of play. No refunds will be given after that point.
