Phillip Jones, MD, FAAEM, FAWM

Phillip Jones, MD, is clinical faculty member with the Department of Emergency Medicine. He is passionate about environmental & wilderness medicine and has completed the Fellowship of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine.
When Dr. Jones is not working clinically, he is often embarking on adventure travel gaining new insights into injury and illness in extreme and wilderness environments. He has previously been a member of Crew 194 Martian Medical Analog Research Simulation at the Mars Desert Research Station near Hanksville, Utah, and has completed a summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro and a trek to Everest Base Camp. Dr. Jones is also a certified PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and an Advanced Wilderness Life Support instructor.
