Faculty Development partners with learning communities across campus to promote discussions on health science education and informal networking.

It is our goal to help UNMC faculty members achieve excellence in teaching, research, leadership and scholarship. To that end, the Office of Faculty Development leads two main committees who aim to enhance the professional development of all faculty, and indirectly impact students and residents:

Career Development and Engagement Committee (CDEC)

The CDEC's mission is to foster a culture of engagement through sustained career development for early career, mid-career and senior faculty. Through the cultivation of leadership skills, educational collaboration and career development programs, the committee helps UNMC recruit, retain and promote its faculty.

Committee members meet on the fourth Wednesday of every month to discuss new ways to develop faculty skills and collaboration across campus. See who is on the CDEC committee.

Educational Development Institute (EDI) Committee

The EDI's mission is to foster a learner-centered culture in premier educational programs. In doing so, the committee serves the institutional goal of engaging our learners at the highest level.

Committee members meet on the second Tuesday of every month to develop interprofessional, impactful activities for faculty to help engage learners. See who is on the EDI committee.
