Caregiver Collaboration
From the very beginning of the admission process, we work in close partnership with caregivers to develop and implement treatment that fits the unique needs of the child and family.
Caregivers are actively involved in assessment, goal setting and treatment planning, ensuring that the approach is both effective and meaningful in everyday life. Thus, caregivers are expected to attend their child’s appointment and participate in services at least one hour per week of the child’s admission.
As treatment progresses, our specialists provide ongoing coaching and support to help caregivers confidently apply strategies in the home and community. This collaborative process is essential, as long-term success depends on consistent and accurate implementation across settings and people.
Training is individualized for each family and may include a combination of:- Guided role-play and rehearsal.
- Modeling of strategies in real time.
- Supportive, in-the-moment feedback.
- Written and spoken instruction.
Our goal is to build caregiver confidence, promote generalization and ensure that treatment remains practical and sustainable beyond the clinic.
