Day Treatment
Day Treatment services provide more intensive, clinic-based care for children who require a higher level of support to safely assess and treat severe behavior.
Children attend the clinic for six hours per day, typically from 9:30am – 3:30pm, five days per week, allowing our team to implement assessment and treatment procedures with a high degree of structure, consistency and clinical oversight.
Care begins with a comprehensive, function-based assessment to identify the variables maintaining challenging behavior and to develop an individualized treatment plan. Treatment is then implemented by a team of highly trained staff under close supervision, with a strong emphasis on building communication and other adaptive skills while safely reducing challenging behavior.
Caregivers are actively involved throughout the process. They observe sessions, participate in training and receive ongoing coaching to ensure they can confidently carry procedures into the home and community. As progress is made, we systematically transition treatment to caregivers and plan for generalization across settings.
The goal of Day Treatment is to achieve meaningful, durable behavior change while equipping caregivers with the skills needed to maintain progress beyond the clinic.
Each day includes structured assessment and treatment activities led by our clinical team. Your child will participate in individualized sessions focused on skill-building and reducing challenging behavior, while caregivers observe and take part in training at various points throughout the program.
Day Treatment involves full-day (six hours) visits in the clinic, five times per week. Typical appointments are scheduled from 9:30am - 3:30pm.
Care is provided by a collaborative team, including a faculty case manager (LP or BCBA-D), a behavior analyst (BCBA), and multiple behavior technicians (RBTs), and occurs in consultation with other MMI specialists as needed.
The program is highly structured and individualized. It begins with assessment and transitions into intensive treatment, with ongoing caregiver involvement and a gradual shift toward caregiver-led implementation.
