Meena Vessell, MD
Assistant Professor, Department of Neurosurgery
Dr. Vessell is a pediatric neurosurgeon at Children’s Nebraska and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She completed her neurosurgery residency training at University of Louisville and received dual fellowship training in epilepsy surgery at the University of Louisville and pediatric neurosurgery at Emory. Her clinical interests include neurotrauma, pediatric epilepsy, spina bifida, hydrocephalus and fetal neurosurgery.
Dr. Vessell serves as a co-primary investigator for an industry funded, multi-center trial on vagus nerve stimulation.
She is involved in several organized neurosurgical organizations including as, Co-Chair of the Pediatric Coding & Reimbursement Committee, and Vice Chair of the Workforce Committee within the Council for State Neurosurgical Societies (CSNS). She was awarded the United States Public Health Service Excellence in Public Health Award and the AMA Excellence in Medicine Award.
