Scheherzade Aslam, MBBS

Assistant Professor, UNMC Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition

Dr. Aslam
I graduated from Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan. I then completed my pediatric residency at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, where I developed a strong interest in pediatric gastroenterology. I subsequently pursued fellowship training in pediatric gastroenterology at UNMC.

Following fellowship, I joined the faculty at Children's Nebraska, where I continue to practice. I enjoy managing a broad range of general pediatric gastroenterology conditions and have a particular clinical and academic interest in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). I am committed to developing a comprehensive, multidisciplinary IBD program to improve access and outcomes for children in our region.

I serve as a physician team member for our center in ImproveCareNow, an national pediatric inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) registry and collaborative learning health network. Beyond maintaining a robust clinical registry, ImproveCareNow has built a dynamic community in which clinicians, researchers, parents, and patients work together to continuously learn and improve. This collaborative model empowers teams to deliver more reliable, proactive IBD care, ultimately improving health outcomes for children and adolescents.
