Matthew Kelly, MD

Dr. Kelly is a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in the outpatient treatment of psychiatric conditions across the lifespan. His clinical interests include psychotherapy, geriatric mental health, and integrated treatment of anxiety and stress-related disorders.
Before completing his residency, Dr. Kelly served as a U.S. Navy Flight Medical Officer assigned to Patrol Squadron 47. His military experience fostered an appreciation for teamwork, mentorship, and adaptability that continues to shape his approach to patient care and teaching.
As a faculty member, Dr. Kelly is passionate about resident education. His teaching interests include psychotherapy education and clinical supervision. Additionally, he has published and presented nationally on a variety of topics, including physician advocacy, psychotherapy education, social anxiety disorder, hospital-based treatment of opioid use disorder, and military culture.
Dr. Kelly serves on the Executive Board of the Nebraska Psychiatric Society, the Early Career Physician Subcommittee of the Metro Omaha Medical Society, and the Psychotherapy Committee of the American Association of Directors of Psychiatric Residency Training. He is also an inductee of the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
