Melissa O'Dell, MD
Assistant Professor, UNMC Department of Psychiatry
Dr. O’Dell is a champion for the development of services across the spectrum of care for people suffering with psychosis and is developing a multidisciplinary subspecialty clinic for this patient population. She splits her time between Poynter Hall and Charles Drew Health Center. Dr. O’Dell’s primary clinical interest is serious mental illness, particularly early intervention in psychosis.
Prior to medical school, she worked as a case manager for adults with serious mental illnesses, and she enjoyed her time as part of Community Alliance’s ACT team during residency training.
Memberships include American Psychiatric Association, Nebraska Psychiatric Society (our local APA chapter), and American Association of Community Psychiatrists
