Specific Prerequisite Courses

Pre-PT Coursework

Prerequisite coursework will be accepted from any regionally accredited institution and must be completed with a letter grade of C- or better. Coursework graded Pass/Fail will not be accepted for any of the listed prerequisites. Laboratory requirements must be completed in person. [Exceptions due to COVID-19: Interim Admissions Policy]

Coursework can be in progress when you apply but must be completed by July 15 of the year of entry.

College prerequisites, course requirements, and program requirements are subject to change.

Human Anatomy & Physiology I with Lab**

  • Online labs are not accepted.
 4 Semester Credit Hours

Human Anatomy & Physiology II with Lab**

  •  Exercise physiology does not fulfill this requirement. 
  • Online labs are not accepted.
  4 Semester Credit Hours
 Two Biology Courses (labs optional)  6 Semester Credit Hours 
Required Prerequisites

**Anatomy and Physiology can be fulfilled by completing a series of two separate anatomy and physiology courses (Human Anatomy and Human Physiology).

Chemistry

Course Minimum Hours

General Chemistry I with Lab

  • Online labs are not accepted.
 4 Semester Credit Hours

General Chemistry II with Lab

  or Biochemistry, or Organic Chemistry

  • Online labs are not accepted.
 4 Semester Credit Hours

Chemistry for science or health science majors are preferred.

Physics

Course Minimum Hours

Physics I with Lab

  • Online labs are not accepted.
 4 Semester Credit Hours

Physics II with Lab

  • Online labs are not accepted.
 4 Semester Credit Hours

Physics must include mechanics, heat, light, sound, and electricity. Physical Science will not fulfill this requirement.

Statistics

Course Minimum Hours
Statistics 3 Semester Credit Hours

Psychology

Course Minimum Hours
One course in either:
  • Abnormal Psychology, OR
  • Lifespan Developmental Psychology
    *Must cover full lifespan, birth to death (this may be satisfied with multiple courses to cover the full lifespan.)
 3 Semester Credit Hours

Social Sciences

Course Minimum Hours

One course from social science or humanities subject area.
