Sarah Richards, MD, FACP
Associate Professor, Division of Hospital Medicine
Dr. Richards is an associate professor in the Division of Hospital Medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the Senior Medical Director, Clinician Experience for Nebraska Medicine. In her system-wide leadership role, she has responsibility for developing, coordinating, and implementing strategies to improve clinician well-being and reduce burnout. Additionally, she is the current nominated chair of the Society of Hospital Medicine Well-being Taskforce. In this role, she leads a team of national experts to address hospitalist burnout on a national level.
Locally, Dr. Richards works with key leaders across UNMC and Nebraska Medicine to provide oversight, direction, and consultation in meeting institutional wellbeing goals. She has completed her coach training and actively coaches UNMC faculty. She is also involved in both medical student and resident education and her focus areas include both patient and physician experience.
