2024 Summer Undergraduate Research Program

The Department of Neurological Sciences is dedicated to training the next generation of researchers and clinicians working in the neurological disorders field. The ten-week, full-time, hands-on summer undergraduate program offers students an opportunity to work alongside faculty members, graduate students and laboratory technicians.

Students in the Summer Undergraduate Research Program will have an opportunity to work either in a molecular or cellular biology (bench space/wet research) lab or statistical analysis/computational approaches (dry) lab.

Students in the program will: 

  • Develop research experience
  • Work on specific research projects
  • Learn techniques related to the project
  • Read and discuss current literature related to the project
  • Participate in lab meetings and formal research seminars
  • Participate in weekly program sponsored activities and seminars
  • Present the project’s research in the end-of-summer program poster session

Application dates: November 1, 2023 - February 1, 2024

All applications must be submitted through the SURP portal.

Program dates: June 3 – August 9, 2024

Hours: Start and end time to be determined by each research mentor.

Stipend: $3,000

Please include in your personal statement your preference for a bench space (wet lab) or dry lab placement.
