Tell us a little about yourself?

I am a proud New Yorker! I've lived in New York my whole life and completed medical school and residency there before moving to California to train in neonatal intensive care. Now after having lived on both coasts, I made the next logical step and moved to Omaha to pursue my second fellowship in pediatric cardiology.

Why did you decide to pursue pediatric cardiology?

I love deciphering and managing changing physiologies, and congenital hearts are always presenting a new problem to solve. During my neonatology fellowship, I learned how to deliver my patients to their first intervention, and now I want to learn what happens next to these children. Pediatric cardiology allows me to continue to walk with them out of their initial hospitalization and through the rest of their lives.

Is there a specific area of cardiology that you are interested in?

I dream of growing the relationship between the fields of cardiology and neonatology to optimize the management of neonates with congenital heart disease.

Why did you choose to train at Children's Nebraska?

I fell in love with this program because it was clear that the faculty are really invested in their fellows. The program has all the resources to train us to be well-rounded cardiologists while still finding ways to foster our individual career goals. It was also important to me to train in a strong surgical program with an active CICU. The fellows are involved in every aspect of the heart center and are surrounded by people eager to teach.

What are your hobbies and what do you like to do in your spare time?

I love the performance arts, like theater and musicals and live music. I'm also really close with my co-fellows and love spending time with them outside of work.

What is your favorite part of living in Omaha?

It's a beautiful city, with lots of events and restaurants and ways to keep myself busy.

What would you say to someone interested in pursuing training at Children's Nebraska?

Choosing to train at Children's Nebraska was easily the best decision I could have made. I'm very proud to be a part of a heart center that cares so much about our team and our patients.
