Preceptor Email and Library Access

As an active faculty volunteer, you will have access to the resources and systems you need to support student education including: 

• Access to UNMC Library services and subscriptions
• If required to perform duties as a volunteer faculty, badge access to buildings on campuses, and/or access to the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS)

All preceptors will be given access to the CORE Experiential Learning Management System.

UNMC @Volunteer. unmc.edu email 

If your role requires access to the Library resources, you will be given an @volunteer.unmc.edu email account in order to access these resources. You will receive an auto-generated email from IAM-noreply@unmc.edu sent to your personal email address on record.  This message will detail the next steps for setting up your @volunteer.unmc.edu account. 

Within the email, you will click on Activate My User Account and, from there, you will be taken to a screen that will guide you through the remaining activation steps. This process should take 5-10 minutes. 

New users will also need to install DUO Multi-Factor Authentication to access the UNMC library resources.

If you have questions or need assistance verifying if you have been given an @Volunteer.unmc.edu email account to access library resources, please contact Kellie Osler. Should you have technical questions after your @Volunteer.unmc.edu account is set up, please contact the UNMC Help Desk at 402-559-7700. 

Please note, all Faculty Volunteers must update their network password at least every 90-days for security purposes. Routine password changes help UNMC defend itself from cyber threats and serve to make it harder for malicious actors to steal passwords. Our IT Department encourages you to change your password proactively when it is convenient for you to do so.
