Eleanor Ransdell-Green, BS
PhD student, Research Assistant

I earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2022. During my time as an undergraduate, I studied the metabolic remodeling of three-spine stickleback fish. In the Wang lab, my research focuses on the development of a polymer-based prodrug delivery system for tanshinone IIA, exploring its potential as a radioprotectant. My work primarily involves cell culture efficacy and mechanistic studies to evaluate the drug’s antioxidant activity and its ability to mitigate radiation-induced damage. Outside of the lab, I enjoy taking walks in Fontenelle Forest with friends. I also enjoy playing and writing songs on the ukulele, as well as felting miniature animals out of wool.
