Open Positions
Postdoctoral Research Associate
A postdoctoral position is currently available in the biochemistry and molecular biology department at UNMC, focused on novel combination therapy for glioblastoma (brain cancer). The potential candidate is expected to perform various cell and molecular biology techniques and in vitro and in vivo experiments to evaluate combination drug therapy in glioblastoma. They will also be involved in animal genotyping, animal drug treatment and animal breeding.
Assistant/Associate/Full Professor
Qualifications include a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree in a scientific field and relevant experience. Preference will be given to outstanding candidates who can utilize state-of-the-art biochemical, molecular, and array approaches to understanding mechanisms during physiological and pathological conditions, including cancer. The successful applicant will be expected to have an independent research program and contribute to the department’s teaching programs.
Research Staffing Position
A research staff position is available that manages and executes molecular cell biology research activities for a research laboratory, including complex experimental projects, supervising, training and guidance of lab personnel. These activities require independent judgment and competent data interpretation. The position specifically requires advanced theoretical knowledge of and practical experience with Z-form nucleic acids and human LINE-1 retrotransposon molecular biology.
Other Open Positions
Several postdoctoral positions are currently available in the biochemistry and molecular biology department, focused on inflammation, cancer biology and cancer therapeutics. The potential candidates are expected to perform various cell and molecular biology techniques and in vitro and in vivo experiments. They will also be involved in the development of organoids and animal models.
