Brian Armstrong

Dr. Armstrong is an associate professor of ophthalmology. He also serves as director of cornea and refractive surgery for Nebraska Medicine, UNMC's primary clinical partner. He is the representative for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences.

Before coming to UNMC, Dr. Armstrong practiced for eight years at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, where he provided specialty eye care not only for Emirati patients, but also patients from nearby Middle Eastern and North African countries. While there, he utilized cutting-edge laser techniques and intraocular lenses, in many cases before U.S. Food & Drug Administration approval. He also became a regional expert in the management of keratoconus and other corneal disorders which are endemic in the Middle East.
