Logesh Palanisamy
House Officer I

Name:
Logesh Palanisamy (Dr. Logan)
What interested you most in UNMC?:
I had great exposure and hands on experience in one of the busiest tertiary and super specialty hospitals in India. I wanted to combine that experience with the diagnostic reasoning and holistic approach I could learn in the USA. UNMC stood out with its chill attendings, great camaraderie among residents even during tough times, diverse patient population, and strong research culture which checked all the boxes for me.
Career aspirations:
I aspire to become a full scope family medicine physician who educates and advocates for patients. As a child, I suffered from allergic rhinitis and missed many school days. Preventive education and strategies could have made my life easier. The odds were zero to become an athlete and a doctor from there, yet I made it. So, who knows, I might even become an entrepreneur bridging these gaps in doctor patient relationships.
If you couldn't work in medicine, what would you do?:
If you only had one day in Nebraska, what would you do?:
Play cricket, soccer, volleyball, you name it, maybe even try golf if someone teaches me, and then dive into Omaha’s food scene before the day ends.
Most fond residency experience or memory up to this point?:
Addressing the spiritual and social needs of patients, performing mental status exams in severely ill psychiatric patients in the ER, and seeing patients in clinic who bless me in return. Being one of the youngest physicians in the country, I often hear, “You look too young to be a doctor,” and even one older couple told me, “Some Gen Zs are very responsible! haha”
