Dr. Bishop is a geriatrician originally from Panama where she completed medical school. After medical school, she attended Creighton University to complete a family medicine residency and joined the University of Nebraska Medical Center for her geriatric fellowship. She practices geriatric primary care at Nebraska Medicine and is also a certified medical director for Douglas County Health Center. She also provides care for patients in long-term care facilities, performs home visits, and assists Adult Protective Services in assessments of frail older adults. She is fluent in Spanish and is passionate about educating health care workers about geriatric principles, and improving the awareness of dementia, particularly among Hispanics.
